Unmoved by Words — Just Execute, Just Realize It
Other people's casual evaluations don't matter. What matters is whether the problem in front of you gets solved and what you wanted to make actually gets made.
Words Are Meaningless. Just Execute Calmly, and Realize It.
Sometimes you take on work that nobody else can do. And from the side, someone — a manager, a passerby — tosses out a casual line: “That should be quick, right?” “Anyone could figure that out.”
Those words mean nothing.
The person who said them is not the one doing the work. An evaluation from someone who hasn’t done it can’t measure its weight. There is no need to take it seriously, and no need to push back. Let it pass through.
Don’t Spend Energy on Reactions
When your work is treated lightly, the urge to explain rises up. “Actually, this is hard because…” You want to start narrating. But that time and energy contributes zero to the problem in front of you.
Being understood through explanation doesn’t solve the problem. Solving it without explaining does. Only the latter has weight.
Stay Focused on What You Wanted to Realize
What you actually wanted was for the problem to be solved. For the thing you wanted to make to exist. That’s all.
Not to change anyone’s perception of you. Not to be evaluated fairly. The moment you make those the goal, you drift away from what you originally cared about.
What Remains Is What You Built
What you build remains. What you said does not. Evaluations shift; the thing you made does not disappear.
So don’t be moved by words. Execute calmly. Realize it. That’s enough.
